An overview of the xeriscape garden in June 2005. Yuccas, hardy cacti and other succulents are joined by native drought tolerant plants such as Artemisia tridentata and many others. The garden is maintained by Jay Akerley and Holli Benjamin. We figure we have close to fifty distinct named cultivars and species of cacti at the moment. Most were obtained in trades with other collectors, in cuttings we have taken from wild populations, and in purchase from specialty nurseries.
